Troubleshooting Uploads and Conversions

Publishing content on ThirdPresence is a two-phase process: uploading and encoding.

Uploading moves your content from your computer to ThirdPresence, while encoding transforms your content from their original file formats for mobile device publishing.

Sometimes either of these phases may fail.

If the upload fails, you will not be asked for the file metadata in the Console. Just try the upload again.

If the encoding fails, you will receive an email notification to the email address that is currently associated with your account.

Diagnosing encoding failures is more difficult. As a first resort, try to play back the file on your own computer with a player application. Turn on all debugging options. If the player complains about something, the file will probably not encode properly on ThirdPresence either.

Another common cause is filenames that are unusually complex, especially those with non-English character, so try to avoid those.
